Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 10, 2026 · Service Provider: Peyton Greenwood

Free Up Storage ("the app") is designed to clean up your device while keeping your personal data private. This policy explains what we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have.

On-Device Processing

Your photos, videos, and contacts are analyzed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers, and we never see them. Deleting duplicates, merging contacts, and creating backups all happen locally on your iPhone.

Information We Collect

To operate and improve the app, we collect a limited set of technical data:

Gmail Access and Google User Data

If you choose to connect a Gmail account, the app requests a single permission — Gmail Modify (gmail.modify) — which lets it read email metadata (such as sender and category counts) and move messages you select to your Gmail Trash, or unsubscribe on your behalf. These actions happen only when you initiate them.

How your Google data is handled: All Gmail processing happens on your device. Your email data and your Google access token are stored only on your iPhone and are sent only to Google's Gmail API to carry out the actions you request. We do not transmit, copy, or store your Gmail messages or metadata on our own servers.

Data sharing, transfer, and disclosure: We do not sell, share, transfer, or disclose your Google user data to any third party, including our analytics, crash-reporting, or subscription providers. Your Google user data is never used for advertising and is never transferred to anyone, except as strictly required by law.

Free Up Storage's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can disconnect at any time in the app, and revoke access from your Google Account settings.

Contacts Backups

When you create a contacts backup, the app exports a vCard file to your device and lets you save it to your own storage (for example Files or iCloud Drive). We do not receive or store your contacts.

Third-Party Services

The app relies on a small number of trusted providers, which may process anonymous device identifiers and diagnostic information solely to support the app's functionality:

Cookies and Tracking

The native mobile app does not use cookies. Third-party SDKs may use device identifiers for crash reporting and purchase validation, with consent obtained where legally required.

Data Retention

Your Rights & Contact

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing [email protected]. California residents have CCPA/CPRA rights, exercisable at the same address.

Security & Children

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the limited data we process. The app is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

International Transfers & Changes

Where data is processed outside your country, appropriate safeguards apply. We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected here with a revised effective date.
